A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

After a bout of trains, planes and automobiles, whirlwind catching up with old friends, and settling into my couch's warm embrace, Carrie re-entered my life, and awakened the shopper in me. We met with Amartya in Harvard Square and headed off to the Garment District, Newbury Street and all of our favorite shops to spend some dollah dollah bills. The weather was perfect ( at least not snowing) and nothing is better than friends and shopping.

Look how pretty my friends are.

Before I get started on that adventure - remember those fabulous boots I posted last week?

Well I went to the store to go buy them, and ended up with an even better pair! Voila! The flash really makes them look redder than they really are, but otherwise I hope you can tell how fabulous they are. Also, they are vintage. Just saying.
Okay back to today's shopping.

For me, I ended up just getting a cropped double-breasted (hehe) emerald green blazer. Personally, I adore it. It looks a little stuffy buttoned, but let me tell you, unbuttoned, it looks grrrreat.
Ps. those are the boots in action - look good eh eh?

Carrie scored big time with an AH mazing Betsey Johnson sweater.
It's covered with hands. And its backless. There isn't much more that you really need is there?
I can't wait to see what she'll pair it with.

We also went digging through the dollar per pound pile, and came out with 7 pounds of swag. Those pieces are still being washed, perhaps you'll see them in the near future (hint hint hint).

Other purchases from the day include H&M purple high-waisted mini, here paired with my dad's sweater and my new boots ( tomorrows outfit!)
I also was lucky to find - actually find- a bracelet that someone left begging for a new owner. It even has evil eyes on it. It was so meant to be its not even funny.
And speaking of meant to be, one of our favorite new items of the day was Carrie's new bow headband, which she accidentally acquired by wearing it around her neck (by accident WE SWEAR) as we left a store.

I was unlucky in Urban Outfitters ( maybe its because I had so much luck with the boots the other day), but Carrie rolling in riches. She got a cute see-through leopard print crop top, and cream sweater. I tried both on, but clearly they were meant for Carrie! How cute!

Okay now for the big sha-bam. Spoiler Alert. I have been planning my halloween outfit for weeks in my head, trying SO hard not to get my hopes up about not being able to complete it successfully, because I thought it would be impossible to find the perfect items. Today proved me wrong.

Do you see a certain iconic ballet-inspired outfit emerging? I can't wait for you to see it all come together ( or fall apart hahaha) on Halloween night.

Okay. Break has been great so far, and soon I get to see more friends, which will make it even better! I'm so lame. Okay BYE!!!
