2009 in review...

2009. i can't believe it's just days away from becoming 2010. 2009 was one heck of a year (and lets be real, the decade itself was a pathway and jumping off point for many things). not only was 2009 the birth of safe in my pocket (yippe!!) but it was also 2nd semester of frosh year of college, the start of sophomore year and everything in between. here's a look back at sammy's 2009... may 2010 bring be filled with many laughs, memories, adventures, friends, and love.

Shout- Out to Home Attire

First off, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Hope Santa was good to everyone this year and Maddie and I can't wait to see all the blog worthy presents you received. Now, as I sit at home and look out my window doodling waiting for my sugar cookies to be done, I was like let's blog it up. The truth is, since coming home about a week ago, I have truly only gotten dressed dressed twice- solid, I know. So... this week blog is all about sweatpants...

The best. The worst. And the down right snuggly.

My favorite sweatpants are without a doubt either my BC sweatpants which I feel have totally been blogged about before (gotta love my gray suit) or my lululemon pants.

In my opinion, there is nothing better than a cozy sweat- pant. I keep the elastics at the bottom of my pant leg and then just roll it under to keep the breeze from chilling my leg, I'm an old lady, I know. I have the BC sweat in both black and gray and I'm sure you can purchase them at any school, I just like reppin' and giving a shout out to my favorite Jesuits.

Besides a cozy sweat pant for those cold, snowy days, a stretchy yoga pant is a must. Janelle and I always comment on the versatility of these pants and really, you don't realize how amazing they are until you have a pair that you want to wear and they are in the wash. The top picture is actually a pair I just recieved for my birthday- a fleece dusted pair of running tights. Once you run in these, you will NOT go back. It's an expensive price to pay for a pair of running pants (upwards of $90), but all Lulu pants have great durability and wash fantastically (don't wash them with socks! It makes them pill). The bottom picture is pair with a fun top and what makes them even better is the fact that they are reversible! I honestly cannot stress how amazing these pants are- I feel like I could be in an infomercial.

Now...the bad. I really can't think of a "bad" pair of sweatpants that I have owned. I refused to fall into the Juicy trap- I those sweats aren't even sweats, they're lounge wear for prissy little biatches (sorry if you wear them). As long as the sweat is cozy and does the trick, I really can't bitch.

What are your favorite sweat pants? Let us know!

Until Tuesday, have a FAB weekend and merry, merry, merry Christmas!!

MY BIRTHDAY (sammy style)

i am offically no longer a teenager. i cannot believe it; and yes, i do feel older today.

despite my slight depression about turning the big 2-0 today (yikes, thats so freakin old), i am one year closer to being able to go into a bar and well, thats about it...

however, birthdays are a HUGE deal in my family (as many of you are aware), so the presents are always poppin'. my mom always goes out of her way to make my birthday EXTRA special because it's so close to xmas (which, by the way...Merry Xmas!).

here is the break down for my 2009 bday celebration...

1. the lululemon running pant dusted with fleece inside. absolutely TO DIE FOR. lulu attire is a little overboard in the price department so i am incredibly grateful to my brother matt and his gf marie who splurged on these amazing pants.

2. photographed ON the pants is another present probably only i would be thrilled to receive... a heart rate monitor with a built in calorie counter and pedometer. nike does it up right watch style and it also came with a micro chip for my shoe and computer so i can track my routes and progress. SCORE. and thanks d :)

3. ruffle skirt in a lovely lilac hue, thick black elastic waist band... a purchase from Nordstroms. Nanc really out did herself this year... just wait to the grand finale.

4. whats a birthday without roses from daddy?

Items not photographed here:
- gold link bracelet from grandma and pop
- yummy oatmeal cashmere sweater

NOW GRAND FINALE> SIT TIGHT.

last, but NEVER least... A NEW MARC BAG. absolutely beyond funky fresh fab, this teal faux alligator marc bag makes me speechless and truthfully, tears came to my eyes when i first put it over my shoulder. as you can tell, i look like a complete foo (and yes, that's a birthday tiara) but who cares- i have a new marc bag. the end.

thanks to everyone who made my 20th so special!! have a happy and safe holiday and stay safe in our pockets! <3
